Taking Time to Rest
I’ve been a busy bee lately. Planning a wedding, working full time, attending college as a full time student, and the list goes on. Life sometimes gets busy like that, though, and I’m sure you’ve experienced moments in your life where you too were being pulled every which way.
It happens.
But that’s why, like God, we must make sure we are taking time to rest.
Genesis 2:2 (NIV) reads, “By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work.”
We must make ourselves rest. If God took rest, and He is all capable, why would we as mere humans not take rest? Are we more capable than God? Of course not. We must follow His lead, taking time to rest.
Charlie Kirk, who was recently hatefully assassinated, would turn his phone off Friday Evening through Sunday Morning. All day Saturday he would detox from his devices and give his entire attention to his family. It was a way to recharge.
What’s your way of refilling your cup or “recharging”? In what ways can you practice Sabbath?
